Happy New Year everyone. This year I have made a commitment to myself to do a few more things for me (loose weight, craft more, and spend more time with my family but not necessarily in that order). With that in mind it was the 2nd Saturday of the month; I so look forward to -getting together with Nancy and the girls - its better than a therapy session. For 2.5 hours we do nothing but make cards, laugh like we have no cares and forget for just a little while everything but the great friends we are and are becoming.
This month's theme for the cards was Birthday and as usual Nancy had some beautiful cards for us to do that ranged anywhere from children's to adult (really some of us want to be a kid but have grown up).
We cut circles out of various sizes ¾, 1 and 1 ¼ inches in red, yellow blue and green. Put them on a plain white card, then ran it thru a big shot with the small dots all over it., then we stamped our Frog, giving him/her a wonderful green color and Rosy checks, a blue hat with red ribbon. If you didn’t know better you would have thought the paper was patterned but in reality its all glued together
Card dimensions 4 ½ x 5 ½ (basically a 8 ½ x 11 inch sheet cut in half)
This second card was really pretty. It’s a flip up card. I love the bright colors and seriously would have never thought to put Orange, blue and green patterned papers together. Someones day is going to be very happy after receiving this.
The beautiful men's card with dark brown card stock that is 5 ½ x 4 ½ that is folded in the middle, on the brown card you will stamp the ships log until the whole front is covered, then place one of the two red papers (4 ½ x 3 ½ ) then place the brown paper about ¼ in from the edge of the red adhere.
Take the solid red sheet adhere to the brown sheet about ¼ in down, on the cream sheet stamp the ship toward the top of the square take a small stamp that says “happy
This last card has to be my most favorite of the bunch, its soft, elegant and reminds us that sometimes in life we really do just need to slow down. The Bee's are cut out (or as we refer to it "Fussy Stampin") The Flowers are colored once and then stamped until faded.
I hope you have enjoyed these today; Please leave me your feed back or drop me a line -would love to hear from you
