Movement/Unique Cards

This is a wonderful masculine card
Hello everyone, hope this beautiful weekend in March finds everyone full of sunshine and blue skies.  My Stampin Up buddy Nancy held a special card making class this weekend it was on Movement and Unique cards.  While I have seen these made before I thought they would be much harder to create, in all honesty once you made one the rest were easy. Nancy is going to post the link on her site with all of the specifics.  Anyway here are the cards, please note that unless specified all items used are from the Stampin Up line.....

The Card folds so that you looks like an
easel.  When adding the caption at the bottom
use dimensional adhesives so that the top of the
card catches on it securing it.

In the card to the right the butterfly on the top and the bottom both have been attached using dimensional adhesives.

The birthday card at the bottom has 4 blocks that when you pull on the tab at the bottom flip up, with the last one saying Happy Birthday.

the next card uses the same principle just more generic.  I so love that you can customize this to whatever you need.  You need to remember on these cards that the strip of paper or ribbon in the center can not be adhered to the paper or your movement won't work.

these cards are simply beautiful and amazing.

New Year, New Cards

Happy New Year everyone. This year I have made a commitment to myself to do a few more things for me (loose weight, craft more, and spend more time with my family but not necessarily in that  order). With that in mind it was the 2nd Saturday of the month; I so look forward to -getting together with Nancy and the girls - its better than a therapy session. For 2.5 hours we do nothing but make cards, laugh like we have no cares and forget for just a little while everything but the great friends we are and are becoming.

This month's theme for the cards was Birthday and as usual Nancy had some beautiful cards for us to do that ranged anywhere from children's to adult (really some of us want to be a kid but have grown up).
This first card was really fun (unless otherwise noted all items are made with Stampin Up products)

We cut circles out of various sizes ¾, 1 and 1 ¼ inches in red, yellow blue and green.  Put them on a plain white card, then ran it thru a big shot with the small dots all over it., then we stamped our Frog, giving him/her a wonderful green color and Rosy checks, a blue hat with red ribbon.  If you didn’t know better you would have thought the paper was patterned  but in reality its all glued together
Card dimensions 4 ½ x 5 ½ (basically a 8 ½ x 11 inch sheet cut in half)

This second card was really pretty. It’s a flip up card.  I love the bright colors and seriously would have never thought to put Orange, blue and green patterned  papers together.  Someones day is going to be very happy after receiving this.5 ½ x 4 ½ x  (basically a 8 ½ x 11 inch sheet cut in down the center half and folded)

The beautiful men's card with dark brown card stock that is 5 ½ x 4 ½  that is folded in the middle, on the brown card you will stamp the ships log until the whole front is covered, then place one of the two red papers (4 ½ x 3 ½ ) then place the brown paper about ¼ in from the edge of the red adhere.

Take the solid red sheet adhere to the brown sheet about ¼ in down, on the cream  sheet stamp the ship toward the top of the square take a small stamp that says “happy
birthday” and stamp this below the ship in red.  When making the compass, stamp the design and use a l" circle cutter, do the same with the green but in a 1¼ " circle. Adhere.  Punch a small hole thru both circles put a corresponding brad or button thru.  Adhere to card with glue pops.

These birthday cards are very much  alike, difference is the papers that were used.  I think the one on the bottom stands out better but really they both are beautiful.  The bows are made with a flower punch and the stamp is STAMP IN UP.

This last card has to be my most favorite of the bunch, its soft, elegant and reminds us that sometimes in life we really do just need to slow down.  The Bee's are cut out (or as we refer to it "Fussy Stampin") The Flowers are colored once and then stamped until faded.

I hope you have enjoyed these today; Please leave me your feed back or drop me a line -would love to hear from you
