WOYWW

As you can see by previous posts I like to mention who has given me inspiration to post on a particular subject, and link them so that others know about them too.

Lindsey W.- The frugal crafter is one of my favorite go to spots when I feel overwhelmed and need to get  back on track.  She is funny and talented with a little wisdom thrown into her videos (kinda like a head slap Denozo style).

Last night as the cleaning began on my work station, and organization of crafting supplies I realized that Holy Cow I have so much stuff, I've been stuffing it into bins (5 x55 gallon to be exact).  Its time to thin - donate, use, give away or throw away.  As I was putting things into piles for those categories I realized that I had scrapped pages and never put them into albums.  Yes I immediately stop sorting and grabbed the nearest empty scrapbook and off we went.  2 hours later I had the most beautiful book - my boys immediately started looking thru it and commenting that yes they remembered all of the pictures.  What a wonderful conversation that was (my boys are 16 and 8).  Its great whenever you can get a teenager to say more that 3 words in a conversation.

Here are some pictures of the finished product.

It really was a great night.  Hope you enjoy and know that it is NEVER TO LATE to create memories.  Until next time - Happy Crafting.

Welcome Baby

I have been off work for the last couple of days for the holidays, it has been wonderrrrrrrrrrrrful. Finally feel my creative spirit starting to awaken again

I needed a baby card for a friend that is having a boy,  Clips-n-Cuts did a card a few weeks ago that I thought would be wonderful.  Here is my take on "Welcome Baby"

The colors could easily be switched for a girl.

Items used are Ribbon Banner Style No. S118 - Simon Says Stamps
paper - Creative Memories Collection- Tuscany (Photo mats & Journaling Boxes) 1989 D.O.T.S Stitched Cloud (someone gave this to me a long time ago)

Hope you had a good holiday, may your new year be merry and bright.

Movement/Unique Cards

This is a wonderful masculine card
Hello everyone, hope this beautiful weekend in March finds everyone full of sunshine and blue skies.  My Stampin Up buddy Nancy held a special card making class this weekend it was on Movement and Unique cards.  While I have seen these made before I thought they would be much harder to create, in all honesty once you made one the rest were easy. Nancy is going to post the link on her site with all of the specifics.  Anyway here are the cards, please note that unless specified all items used are from the Stampin Up line.....

The Card folds so that you looks like an
easel.  When adding the caption at the bottom
use dimensional adhesives so that the top of the
card catches on it securing it.

In the card to the right the butterfly on the top and the bottom both have been attached using dimensional adhesives.

The birthday card at the bottom has 4 blocks that when you pull on the tab at the bottom flip up, with the last one saying Happy Birthday.

the next card uses the same principle just more generic.  I so love that you can customize this to whatever you need.  You need to remember on these cards that the strip of paper or ribbon in the center can not be adhered to the paper or your movement won't work.

these cards are simply beautiful and amazing.

Christmas presents for the girls

Hope everyone has had a great Holiday so far.  For some of my close friends I made these wonderful picture frames.  Two of them where made in browns, one in teals, blues and green and the last (which is still in work) red, black and white.

The picture frame is 11x16, the larger squares are 2 3/4 inches and the smaller squares are 2 1/2 inches.  The lettering is cut on my cricut and is 1 1/2 inches in whatever style you like (one of these is from the starter cartridge George, the other is from the Hannah Montana cartridge).  Leaf and bird punch are from Stampin up, most of the punches are either EK success or Stampin up.  the words BLISS, ALWAYS, and LOVE were printed on the computer using the Font IMPRINT MT SHADOW size 24.  Ink around the edges is Stampin Up Close to Cocoa.

Thanks to Nancy for loaning me the bird punch and giving me the idea
